Brighten Your Smile with Dr. Nguyen
Do you have flaws in your smile that damage your self-esteem? If so, Dr. Nguyen is happy to offer your choice of porcelain veneers or lumineers to enhance your appearance. While both of these treatments will give you a bright and flawless smile, there are a few differences between them that you should take into account when making your decision.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are thin shells that are placed over the surface of your teeth to cover cosmetic flaws. They’re made from durable, tooth-colored porcelain to ensure a natural appearance that will last for years to come.
Some of the issues veneers can treat include:
- Chips and cracks
- Stains and discoloration
- Crooked or misaligned teeth
- Gaps between teeth
The Veneers Process
Brightening your smile with porcelain veneers can typically be completed in just two appointments. During the first visit, Dr. Nguyen will take a digital impression of your teeth and use this model to create your veneers. He’ll also remove some of your tooth enamel to avoid a bulky final appearance.
In about two weeks, you can return to our office and complete the process. Dr. Nguyen will ensure that the color and fit of your veneers are perfect before bonding them to your teeth. After this brief procedure is complete, you can enjoy all the benefits of a confident and beautiful smile.
What Are Lumineers?
Lumineers are a type of ultra-thin veneer made from extremely durable Cerinate® porcelain. The strength of this material is what makes it possible for them to be so thin and still provide long-lasting results. Lumineers can cover all the same flaws as traditional veneers and are guaranteed to help you achieve a stunning smile.
The Lumineers Process
Since they’re so thin, lumineers can be applied directly to your teeth without removing any of your healthy enamel. This provides a clear advantage over veneers, allowing you to retain your natural tooth structure. Lumineers also prevent the need for drilling, shots, or temporary acrylics.
Though the ultra-thin material provides several advantages, lumineers may not provide enough coverage for deep stains. Just like veneers, the process can be completed in two short appointments over the course of a couple weeks.
